For Your Forever, My Doctor

by

“We can’t just send her back, Theseus. She’s been far too altered by the Vortex. That wasn’t a natural Time Storm, and you know it.”

“What else are we supposed to do, Justidenavlar? She’s human. Aliens are not allowed on Gallifrey.”

“She’s far closer to a Gallifreyan now than she is a human.”

“Gentlemen... I couldn’t help but overhear.”

“Lord Borusa. I trust you are well.”

“Very well, thank you Justidenavlar. As for the girl, I propose a research project. If we were to place her in the Academy, it would be a splendid way for us to study a human being in a controlled environment. Much less one so much more like ourselves…”

“She doesn’t even speak Gallifreyan! Her education levels, regardless of academic prowess for the 21st century Earth, are far below those of other students in the biological equivalent age group! Someone would have to be with her at all times!”

“I have another student struggling. It was proposed he be held back a year, but… maybe a sabbatical wherein he helps the student, instead. Trust me, Theseus. I know what I am about.”

“…If you’re willing to take it on-”

“I am. And the Lord President is… intrigued as well.”
