A Hushed Recognition

by

"Rose sighs into his shoulder, tucking into the curve of his neck and taking a long breath in. She’s not sure what exactly she expected would occur when he walked back through the door, but she didn’t expect this of herself - to be absolutely floored by his presence. And now he’s here, it’s like she can’t let go. His arms tighten around her, pulling her in closer, her torso flush against his waist, her feet still only just brushing the ground. Her heart pounds and she tries to take it in, the fact that he was not in fact lost to the laundromat nor the far reaches of space, that it wasn’t intentional, and that he’s here. When she speaks it’s with equal measure of relief and surprise, even to herself. 'I never thought I’d be so lonely without you.'"

The Doctor and Rose spend a month in 1930s Yorkshire after the events of TIP/TSP and learn better how to comfort and care for one another. This installment includes plenty of fluff, bit of angst, lots of longing, a laundromat mishap, AND a carnival! Could be a standalone if you really want it to be but is best read in conjunction with the rest of the series!
