Cassiopeia Smith. Cassie for short. She woke up in the middle of an alley in central London one rainy night with memories of a different planet, a different species, a different life... And yet the humans around her tell her it's all nonsense. They put her in therapy and give her to a pair of indifferent foster parents, who are more acquaintance than a proper mother and father. She's never fit in, but she's never minded much, even if it leaves her rather lonely. The closest thing she has to real family is her best friend, Ross, who is by her side hunting monsters when they run into The Doctor. They seem to recognize each other, but they can't realise why, and there's nothing more The Doctor loves than a good mystery. As their adventures together continue, he starts to wonder if he's the last Timelord alive after all.
(very cliche premise, naturally, but i love a good cliche. this is a story i've had thought out for nearly ten years. i hope you like it as much as i have.)
