Doctor Julian Bashir was destined to accompany the Kai through the wormhole. He was destined to crash with her and he was destined to leave her on that cursed planet and return to DS9 with his crewmates. The problem with destiny is that it doesn't actually exist and any small thing, like a sliding door closing a few seconds earlier or later, can change the course of an entire life. Deviating out into myriads of other possibilities.
The Doctor is one of those few who is truly knowledgeable in the fabric of time and space.
If only he could have just died at birth, none of this hell would have happened.
