Nothing ever stays the same, does it? The Doctor sighed. Everything changes, even Jack. This Jack was old, impossibly old. He could feel it in his bones. This wasn’t the Jack he had left all those lifetimes ago.
It seems that it was finally time for the Doctor to re-evaluate his relationship with the Captain.
In other words, the Captain and the (Future) Doctor finally had a conversation after years and years of doing their own thing in the Universe and finally got together.
