1940, Captain John Benton, a highly skilled pilot tests a prototype aircraft which malfunctions.

1942, starts fighting with the army until the end of the war.

1946 to 1957, brief participation in the Cold War for both sides before giving up and going underground as a thief to survive.

1968, when he is caught by the Doctor in, Benton is given to Mike Yates to be placed into UNIT. The two don't get along at first, but after a while Benton expresses his memories and life with PTSD. Not long after that they begin to form a relationship.

1972, a visit to a war museum unveils his real identity when his colleagues see his plane, photos and documentaries. A unknown alien force is coming closer to Earth, threatening everyone.

1973, the fleet is defeated and all goes back to normal.
