Waiting for a Train

by

"You're waiting for a train. A train that will take you far away. You know where you hope the train will take you, but you can't be sure. Yet it doesn't matter.”

Donna Noble is a traveler. She's been everywhere. She's been scuba diving in Spain, for Christ's sake! But somehow she's missing something. Someone. She's sure of it, but every time she tries to remember what she's missing, her thoughts slip away like water off a duck's back and her head starts to hurt.

Then, one day, she's visiting an antiques shop with Nerys. Nothing important, right? But there's a tablet, a little black thing, etched with strange symbols and half-buried under some old books. She brushed it off as some general oddity like the rest of the shop's inventory, and very nearly walked away from it forever, when the letters turned to English before her eyes.

She had a scary feeling that that was somehow supposed to be normal for her. That was when she finally knew she was looking for someone.

And then someone tried to steal her tablet.
