Marion Rose Tyler has it all, money, notoriety and she's next in line to run Torchwood. But she's miserable unable to stand it she runs off to Broadchurch, switches her name to Rose and starts fresh running a cafe'.
Then she meets D.I Alec Hardy, who's investigating the murder of Danny Latimer and falls for him but still decides to keep her identity a secret from him for fear of going back and facing Torchwood and the public's critical judgement.
Alec finds out anyway but swears not to tell anyone and promises to keep her safe despite the risks.
But her Torchwood alien hunting past catches up with her and so do the reporters and so does Torchwood leaving them both in trouble.
Worried for the stress he's under Rose begs him to tell everyone the truth about her and his health but he won't do it not until the Latimer case is over after all he promised to keep her safe but can he?
