“Doctor, where and when exactly did we land?”

“Good question. Give me a moment,” she replied. The Doctor sunk her head into the water enough to get mouthful of it. She swished it around her mouth, and then swallowed it with a gulp. “Around 610 BC. A Greek island, I think? Not sure which one, though,” she explained, and then grimaced, sticking her tongue out in disgust. “I really shouldn’t have swallowed that. Salt water doesn’t taste good.”

“I’ll get you back, Yaz,” the Doctor stated.

The TARDIS crashes and leaves Yaz and the Doctor stranded in ancient Greece, and who do they run into and team up with other than famous poet Sappho! (which is DEFINITELY a coincidence and not at all because of Yaz's recent obsession with said poet) [no knowledge of Sappho or ancient Greece is required to enjoy this fic!!]
