“Well, not… not going into details, you know… Just the general thing. That we’re… a thing.” This feels awkward. Is this awkward? A ‘thing’. Are they a thing? What kind of thing are they? They haven't really defined it yet. Partners? Lovers? Friends?
“A thing,” he repeats, and she can hear the smirk in his voice.
“Oh, shut up,” she mutters. “You know what I mean.”
