(This is a Night) For Lost Things Being Found

by

“Because when you lose one thing you’re all set up to gain something else that might even be better. Trust me, I’m not just talking rubbish here; I’ve lost enough to know that nothing stays lost forever."

No one is looking for her, and they probably never will, and so she sits down by the Thames to watch the lights glitter on the water and plan the next few days on her own. The last thing she wants is a strange man with no fashion sense appearing out of the night and asking her stupid questions about metal spiders.

The Doctor, on the other hand, isn't even looking for a companion. He's not looking for trouble either. But you already know how this goes--on a dark night in the middle of London, he finds both. He never has been able to resist a crying stranger.

(Quick version: my OC version of the Doctor meeting my OC companion for the first time and both of them being exactly what the other needs)
