The Doctor—a time travelling alien—and his companion Martha Jones are trapped in the past and try to communicate with a young woman, Jane Hopper, to prevent the statue-like Weeping Angels from taking control of the TARDIS. Jane and her best friend's brother, Mike Wheeler, must unravel a set of cryptic clues sent through time by the marooned Doctor, left in the abandoned Neibolt Estate which the Angels currently occupy.
