Let Me Be

by

The Doctor's long journey to Gallifrey takes a sharp veer to left- he is deposited onto Gallifrey shortly after the conclusion of the Time War. And it's chaos.

Rassilon is in power, and has been driven mad by their isolation, but is unable to accumulate any retaliation against the Daleks due to their stasis in the pocket universe. Instead, the High Council pool over the prophecies, hoping to find them a way back home, but their investigations bring up new threats; whispers of a Hybrid, bent on destroying the Time Lords.

Meanwhile, refugees and insurgents roam in the under cities, and whispers of a group working against the High Council stir through the shadows. They are said to be fighting a threat to time, one which Rassilon ignores as the tendrils of the Hyrbid consume him from the inside out.

The Doctor, incapacitated by the Veil, can do nothing but watch as Gallifrey falls to shambles around him once more.
