When things don't work out with Natalie, Peter calls Rose up for some advice and to talk. She interrupts this as he wants her to come and see him, so she drives the four hours to see him. When he decides not to stay in Blackpool, Rose offers him to stay with her. Peter is quite grateful to have a friend like Rose Tyler in his life.
